Two is better than one (~willow~ only, sorry)

Pantherstrike just shrugged and pounced on the tiny mouse. He carried it back to were Blackrose stood, looking like she was trying to figure out who to carry all of her prey. He set the mouse down, then slung a bit rabbit over his Back. He then flund another smaller rabbit on his neck. Pantherstrike then picked up one vole and four mice in his mouth. He turned to Blackrose and mumbled around his mouth full of prey "Come on Blackrose! We better get this prey back to camp...The clan will befed well tonigt." He then added "Do you need help getting the prey picked up?" He didn't want to offend her, but he felt he needed to ask if she needed help. It was just in his nature to ask.

Blackrose studied the tom thoughtfully. He never ceased to amaze her. She gave a a gentle cuff around the ear, and purred "I'm fine. You're right we better get going." Ambling alongside him back to camp, she wondered whether to tell him about her suspicions yet. Better not, she decided. Time would tell if he would be able to handle such thoughts.

"Okay. So, how are we going yo tell the clan?" Pantherstrike mumbled around his mouthful.He had begun to wonder about what they would tell the clan, there would definatly be some disapointed toms. Pantherstrike chuckled at the fact that if any other tom said anything about this to Blackrose she would chew them up and spit them out.Pantherstrike stole a glance at Blackrose. She looked deep in thought...I wonder what is bothering her... he thought. So he waited for Blackrose to reply to his earlier question before bringing his new one up

"I guess we just wing it. If a cat asks we say, if they don't, they'll figure out pretty soon." She replied, her ears twithing slightly as a fly buzzed in one. Her words were rather hard to understand through the mice, but she was sure Pantherstike would get the drift of what she had said.

Pantherstrike nodded, he understood what Blackrose was saying. Now, he needed to ask her what else was on her mind, it was driving him crazy. Pantherstrike glanced at Blackrose and mumbled " So Blackrose, what else is on your mind? I mean besides telling the clan."

[blackrose]

Blackrose studied him closely, uncertain as to whether she could tell him or not. He seemed trustworthy enough. "I..... Well you see I think that.... A few moons ago....." She paused and took in a deep breath. Easy now rosie, think it through and then begin. "Pantherstrike.... A few moons ago, when I was still an apprentice, do you remember me disappearing for a while? Not long" she added hastily," Just a few days. When I came back I said I got lost, and because I did that a lot, it was accepted and everything moved on. But I never got lost. I.... I ran away because I was scared of letting anyone down. My mentor was great, but I didn't get what she was talking about half the time." Here she stopped, and checked to see if Pantherstrike was following what she was saying.

Pantherstrike gave Blackrose a questioning glance, he couldn't quite see why she would run away because she didn't understand something but he went along with it anyways. "Ya, I remember that, I was worried sick!" Pantherstrike mewed "But theres obviously more to why you ran away then just not wanting to let anyone down and not understanding your training...What's up Rosie?"

Blackrose couldn't help but smile at the mention of her old nickname. She should have known he would see straight through that old ruse. "Okay. I kind of had a friend who was a kittpet. She used to meet me on the edge of the woods, so one day I went along to see her but her twolegs caught me. They kept me for a few days, but I kept attacking them so they let me go. But before I left there was a real piece of crow food called Mikey, and he wouldn't let me leave and was hurting my friend until I snapped and I..... I..... I lashed out and the next thing I knew he was dead!" She shuddered, remembering his glassy eyes and stiff limbs. Keeping her eyes on Pantherstrike she waited to see his reaction.

Pantherstrike looked at Blackrose and couldn't beleive that she would have done the exact same thing he would have. Pantherstrike put down the prey in his mouth and said "Is this suposed to freak me out? I love you no matter what and always will. And to let you know, if that had been me I would have done the exact same thing. Don't worry, I love you the way you are. Don't forget it." Pantherstrike picked up his prey again and waited for Blackrose to start walking again.

Blackrose walked back to camp, the entrance in view. "Thankyou," she whispered to Pantherstrike as she headed to the fresh kill pile.
